Strategic planning and support for food businesses

What you will learn:

  • How to measure your food waste and make it visible
  • How to engage your staff and make them hungry for change
  • Practical steps to get more from the food you pay for
  • How to share your story and inspire further change
  • Once waste reduction has started, how you then take it to the next level.

From the simplest low cost solution of a clear plastic container and rota of staff responsible for weighing before disposal at end of each day. Then there are tools available for logging food waste. We will look at the range of tools available and examine some case studies. We will choose a starting point for your business and set a goal for reduction.

We will then introduce an element of competition between departments, between sites, and make the process of waste reduction interesting, fun and easy to achieve.  We will highlight successes, encourage innovation and keep up the measuring and monitoring.
